The Moi University Alumni Association was established under the Universities Act of 1984.  MUAA  has offices on the 1st floor of Moi University Administration and Senate Building. It is the official association of all alumni of Moi University. The association enables the members to share their experiences and memories of studying at Moi University and maintain a strong worldwide network of friends. The objective of the MUAA as stated in its Constitution is to promote the welfare of Moi University and to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between Moi University and its alumni.  The alumni office supports the members through maintaining their contacts, organizing for meetings, mentorships programmes, Alumni website and implementing alumni projects.
The number of graduates from Moi University has grown tremendously over the years. During the 1st graduation ceremony held in December 1985 the University had 21 Graduands while in the 38th graduation ceremony held on 22nd August 2019 they were 2795 graduands. Currently the University boasts of an alumni membership of over 110,000 graduands who are currently serving in various professional capacities both within the nation and internationally. The majority have maintained a sense of self-respect, discipline and institutional loyalty.  Some of the alumni members have kept close contacts with the University and supported different activities.
The Alumni office first had an Interim Committee appointed by the Deputy Vice chancellor, Research & Extension who served from 3rd October, 2003 to 31st March 2006. The first alumni officials were elected during an AGM held on 31st March, 2006 at Hotel Academia, Chepkoilel Campus; Prof. John Simiyu- Chairperson and Mrs. Lilian Chemingeni- Vice Chairperson. The second elections were conducted during the AGM held on 20th May, 2011 at Sirikwa Hotel, Eldoret the officials elected were Mr. Andrew Maoga as Chairman and Ms. Washika Ronaldine as Vice Chairperson. The third AGM was held on July 21st, 2012 at Nairobi Campus Bazaar Building the theme being “Promoting National Cohesion and Integration through alumni”. The fourth AGM was held on 7th December, 2013 at Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) the theme was “Our Alumni a living memory of Moi University”. The fifth AGM was held on 14th March, 2015 at the College of Health Sciences, PDN hall the theme was “Aligning Moi University Alumni to the Institution’s Kenya Vision 2030 aspirations”.
The sixth AGM was held on 16th March, 2018 at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development the theme was “Rebranding Moi University –A duty for Alumni” the officials  elected were Mr. James Mwangi Githaiga - Chairperson, Ms. Lydia Chelit - Vice-Chairperson, and Mr. Peter Githaiga -Treasurer. The officials serve for three (3) years.
